Sculptra

Sculptra is a facial volume enhancer that works by stimulating your body to increase skin thickness up to three times in the areas of injection. Sculptra can restore fullness to the face, create a rejuvenated, natural appearance, and treat the deepest of hollows and wrinkles. Although Sculptra takes time to create its effects, once the benefits are seen the refreshed look may last over a year.

Sculptra contains a biodegradable material called poly-L-lactic acid, which has been used for many years in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and other medical products. Sculptra can dramatically alter your appearance, but takes effect gradually, often after multiple treatments. Monthly treatments of additional Sculptra are necessary until your desired look is achieved.

Sculptra is so effective at ameliorating facial deficits that it is also FDA-approved for treating patients who have lipoatrophy as a result of anti-HIV medications. Recently, Medicare approved Sculptra treatments for payment in certain circumstances, so if you have Medicare your procedure may be covered.
