What is AlphaBetterCare?

AlphaBetterCare is the new medical practice of Howard Grossman, MD, dedicated to providing high-quality medical care, preventive services, and long-term health maintenance to our patients in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. We want to be your medical home and your full partners in the creation of a better life. We use the latest technology to ensure that we’re accessible to you day or night, whether it’s for an emergency or a follow-up question. We also offer aesthetic services in our discreet midtown office.

We make sure that your care is always the best it can be, no matter what you need or where you are.

Who can be an AlphaBetterCare patient?

AlphaBetterCare welcomes all adults. If you’re interested in improving your health, we’re eager to help.

Does AlphaBetterCare have a specialty?

AlphaBetterCare is a primary care practice. That means we are dedicated to serving all of a patient’s medical needs, not just those that happen to fall within a narrow area of focus.

How do I become a patient?

What if I need to go to the hospital?

Dr. Grossman is a Senior Attending Physician at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital, so he can admit you directly if you need hospital care—and, more importantly, he can help to manage all of your care while hospitalized. You can feel secure knowing that your AlphaBetterCare doctor is monitoring your health, visiting you, and helping you get well.

What about health insurance?

We are in-network providers with many health insurance plans. View our current list of insurance plans here. We’re happy to check for you to determine what your insurance plan covers, so you don’t have to worry about it.

My health insurance plan is not on your list. Can I still seek treatment at AlphaBetterCare?

If we are not in your insurance plan network, we will provide you with all the information you need to submit a claim for reimbursement. All fees are due at the time of service.

Will the annual membership fee be reimbursed by my insurance company?

Because the annual membership fee covers non-medical services, most insurance companies will not reimburse for it. However, if you have a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account, you may be able to use those funds. Check with your employer for details.

Where is your office and how do I get there? When are you open?

We are centrally located in midtown Manhattan, near Columbus Circle, Hell’s Kitchen and the Upper West Side. Our office is on 57th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue, convenient to many subway lines and buses. We’re open on Tuesdays through Saturdays. Our Location and Hours Page has all the details.
